## Food & Drink
### 1. Versailles Restaurant — Little Havana
The most famous Cuban restaurant in America and it deserves every bit of the reputation. The cafecito window on the side of the building is where locals grab a $1.50 Cuban coffee and gossip. The ropa vieja and lechon asado are the moves. $12-20 per plate. Yes tourists go here. Locals go here more.
### 2. La Mar by Gaston Acurio — Brickell
Peruvian seafood on the water with ceviche that rivals Lima. The pisco sours are perfect. Lunch is more affordable than dinner — $20-35 per person vs $50+ at dinner. Waterfront seating with Biscayne Bay views.
### 3. Enriqueta's Sandwich Shop — Wynwood
No-frills Cuban diner that's been here since before Wynwood had a single gallery. The pan con bistec is the size of your head and costs $9. Cash only, closes at 3pm. This is the real Wynwood before the murals.
### 4. Sunset Harbour — South Beach (the local part)
While tourists pack Lincoln Road, locals eat at Sunset Harbour. Lucali (Brooklyn pizza transplant), Pura Vida (acai bowls), and Icebox Cafe. It's technically South Beach but feels like a neighborhood.
### 5. El Palacio de los Jugos — Multiple Locations
An open-air market/restaurant where you eat Cuban food cafeteria-style at picnic tables. Fresh tropical juices, whole roasted pig, and frituras for almost nothing. $8-15 feeds you completely. Multiple locations — the Flagler Street one is the most authentic.
## Culture & Experiences
### 6. Little Havana — Calle Ocho
Walk Calle Ocho (8th Street) from 12th to 17th Avenue. Domino Park where old men play dominoes all day, Azucar Ice Cream (try the Abuela Maria flavor), cigar shops, and fruit stands. Free to walk, $20-30 to eat and drink your way through. Friday evenings have Viernes Culturales (Cultural Fridays) with live music and art walks.
### 7. Vizcaya Museum and Gardens — Coconut Grove
An Italian Renaissance villa on Biscayne Bay built in 1916. The gardens are straight out of a European palace. $22 adults. One of the most beautiful places in Florida that somehow avoids the tourist radar. Best photographed in the morning light.
### 8. Stiltsville — Biscayne Bay
Seven wooden houses on stilts in the middle of Biscayne Bay, a mile offshore. You need a boat to get there but guided tours run from Crandon Park ($50-80). Completely unique to Miami and one of the most photogenic spots in the state.
### 9. Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) — Downtown
Modern art museum on the waterfront with a hanging garden entrance. The building itself is stunning. $16 adults, free for Miami-Dade residents on certain days. The gift shop is legitimately one of the best museum shops in the country.
### 10. Coral Castle — Homestead (30 min south)
A guy named Ed spent 28 years single-handedly carving a castle out of coral rock. Nobody knows how he did it — each piece weighs tons. $18 adults. It's bizarre, impressive, and absolutely worth the drive south.
## Outdoors
### 11. Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park — Key Biscayne
The most beautiful beach in Miami-Dade County and most tourists never make it here. A lighthouse from 1825, calm water, sea grape trees for shade, and a fraction of South Beach's crowds. $8 per car. The lighthouse keeper's cottage sells fish sandwiches.
### 12. Oleta River State Park — North Miami Beach
The largest urban park in Florida. Mountain biking trails, kayak rentals, mangrove paddling trails, and a quiet beach on Biscayne Bay. $6 per car. 15 minutes from Aventura Mall and feels like a different planet.
### 13. Virginia Key Beach Park — Key Biscayne
Historic beach (the only beach Black residents could use during segregation) with a fascinating history museum, beautiful water, and zero crowds. Mountain biking trails through coastal hammock forest. $7 per car.
## Neighborhoods
### 14. Wynwood — Art District
Everybody knows the Wynwood Walls but the real gems are the galleries and restaurants on the surrounding streets. Walk NW 2nd Avenue between 23rd and 29th Streets for smaller galleries. Wynwood Marketplace on weekends has local vendors and food. Zak the Baker for bread and pastries.
### 15. Coconut Grove — South of Brickell
The oldest continuously inhabited neighborhood in Miami feels like a tropical village. Vizcaya is here, plus CocoWalk for shopping, Peacock Park for people-watching, and sailing from Dinner Key Marina. Monty's Raw Bar for waterfront drinks at sunset.

## Miami Money Tips
- **South Beach parking:** Use the ParkMobile app. Meters are $4/hr but the app saves you from feeding quarters.
- **Beach hack:** Go to Mid-Beach (around 45th-65th Street) instead of South Beach (5th-15th). Same ocean, 90% fewer people.
- **Cuban coffee etiquette:** A "cafecito" is espresso with sugar. A "cortadito" adds milk. A "colada" is a large serving meant to be shared with cups.
- **Free trolley:** The free Miami trolley runs through Brickell, Downtown, Wynwood, and the Beach. Google "Miami trolley routes" — saves $20+/day on Ubers.
