The ramen at Akaoni is the best in Carmel. Rich tonkotsu broth that has been simmering all day, perfect soft-boiled egg, and tender chashu pork. Worth every penny.

Went for happy hour at Akaoni and the half-price rolls were exceptional. The spicy tuna crunch roll is a must. Great sake selection and knowledgeable staff.

Solid Japanese food at Akaoni. The bento lunch special is great value and the miso soup is excellent. Sushi rolls are fresh and generously portioned.

Best kept secret in Carmel for Japanese food. Akaoni does not cut corners on ingredients and the attention to detail shows in every dish. Try the chirashi bowl.
