JJ Foley's has been pouring drinks in South Boston since 1909. The bar food is honest — burgers, wings, onion rings. $12-18. It's the kind of place where everyone knows each other. 4 stars because the kitchen closes early. But for the atmosphere and history, it's irreplaceable.

Came back for a second round and the quality was just as strong as the first time. Consistency is everything and these folks have it dialed in.
