Fourth visit to Lucha Libre. I now bring every out-of-town guest. The California burrito converts everyone. My parents from Minnesota had never tried surf-style Mexican food and they were amazed. $11-14 per item. Mission Hills institution. Go early to avoid the line.

Second visit to Lucha Libre. The California burrito is still the best in San Diego. Tried the carne asada fries this time — massive portion for $11. 4 stars because Mission Hills parking is brutal on weekends. Walk or Uber if you can. The food is consistently excellent.

Lucha Libre Taco Shop in Mission Hills is unreal. The Surfin California burrito with carne asada and french fries is a San Diego classic. $12-14 for a burrito that could feed two people. Lucha libre masks on the walls, great energy. Cash only.
