Fourth trip to Sam LaGrassa's. Finally tried the reuben — it rivals the pastrami. $18 for a sandwich piled 3 inches high with house-smoked corned beef. The Russian dressing is homemade. I now alternate between pastrami and reuben each visit. Boston's best sandwich shop, no argument.

If every business operated at this level the world would be a better place. No exaggeration. They have figured out how to combine skill, integrity, and care in everything they do.

Came back to Sam LaGrassa's with out-of-town guests. They were blown away. The smoked pastrami on rye with Russian dressing is life-changing. $18. We went at 11:15am and only waited 5 minutes. By 11:45 the line was out the door. Pro tip: go right at opening.

Sam LaGrassa's has been voted the best sandwich in America and it deserves it. The Chipotle Pastrami on pumpernickel is life-changing. $16-20 per sandwich. Downtown Financial District, lunch only, long lines. Go at 11am sharp to beat the rush. Cash only. Worth every minute in line.

The benchmark for what good service should look like. I wish more businesses operated with this level of care and professionalism. Would give ten stars if I could.

At this point I have lost count of how many times I have been here. That alone should tell you how good they are. Consistency over time is the true test and they pass it every time.
