Back to Soul Gastrolounge for the third time. The short rib tacos never disappoint and they rotate seasonal cocktails quarterly. Tried the spring menu — the watermelon tuna tartare was a revelation. $65 for two with drinks. Plaza Midwood is Charlotte's dining epicenter. Reserve on OpenTable.

Fourth visit to Soul Gastrolounge — the bartender remembered my go-to cocktail without asking. That kind of personalization is what builds loyalty. The spring menu added a Korean fried cauliflower that rivals their famous tacos. $55 for two with drinks. Charlotte's best dining experience.

Fifth visit to Soul Gastrolounge. We now sit at the bar and the bartender makes our drinks before we order. The short rib tacos are our ritual. $55 for two with cocktails. Plaza Midwood is Charlotte's beating heart and Soul is the pulse. Find your restaurant. Become a regular. Life gets better.

Soul Gastrolounge in Plaza Midwood is incredible. Creative small plates, amazing cocktails. The short rib tacos and tuna nachos are must-orders. $60-80 for two people with drinks. Gets packed after 7pm on weekends. One of Charlotte's truly special restaurants.
