Established in 1947, The Busy Bee Café is renowned for its Southern soul food, including fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, and cornbread. It holds a significant place in Atlanta's history and was honored as one of America's Classics by the James Beard Foundation in 2022. We welcome guests for dine-in, takeout, and catering. Our menu features fresh, locally sourced ingredients prepared daily by our kitchen team. We accommodate dietary restrictions including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and common allergen modifications with advance notice. Private dining available for groups and special events. The Busy Bee is now our church group's official after-service restaurant. 15 people every Sunday, they know our reservation. The fried chicken and collard greens feed the body, the community feeds the soul. $16 per plate. Atlanta doesn't have a more important restaurant. 40+ years of soul food.

Second visit to Busy Bee. The smothered pork chops are even better than the fried chicken — controversial take but I stand by it. $16 plate. 4 stars this time because the lunch rush was chaotic and we waited 25 minutes for a table. Go at 11am or after 1:30pm.

The Busy Bee Cafe has been feeding Atlanta since 1947. Smothered pork chops, collard greens, mac and cheese — all made from scratch. $14-18 per plate. No frills, just incredible food. Lines form at lunch but it moves fast. A West End institution that every ATL visitor should experience.
