What makes this directory different

Most local-business directories are pay-to-play. The professionals ranked at the top are the ones spending the most on lead fees — not necessarily the ones doing the best work. We built Recommended because someone needed to fix that.

Every business listed here is verified through public records or direct claim. We don't accept payment to rank a plumber above their competitors. There are no Sponsored placements. There are no “pro” tiers that buy you a higher position. The order you see is the order the data supports — and the data is open about how it was sourced.

The 53,000+ businesses span 261 US cities and 138 service categories, from emergency plumbers and slab-leak specialists to date-night restaurants and pediatric dentists. Every city page shows local pros with their actual contact information, real ratings, and direct links — no aggregator paywall in between.
